Reported by the Telegraph, Tuesday (10/01/2012), Playbook operating system will now be able to receive mail directly, without connecting to the BlackBerry. RIM also said the new operating system for smartphones, version 7.1 will also be available starting today.
Co-CEO of RIM, Mike Lazaridid said, "We are building a strong foundation, with OS 2.0 on BlackBerry Playbook, as well as leveraging our strengths in communication, social integration and productivity. So that allows people to use the BlackBerry Playbook in new ways throughout the day . "
This update will add an email to the Playbook, so that eventually no longer be required to connect the device to BlackBerry phones. A new unified inbox will allow users to combine work and personal e-mail.
As with any Windows Phone, RIM will also integrate social networking calendar and contacts. BlackBerry handsets are now also able to be as remote control, such as streaming movies from the Playbook to the TV or as a keyboard for Playbook. In addition, RIM also said the update feature and corporate offices, as well as enhance the ability of App World, and introduces a new way of browsing the web reader, which only shows the text on web pages.
Additionally BlackBerry OS 7.1, will also be more easily shared via NFC as easy as changing your phone into a portable WiFi hotspot
