LAS VEGAS - Microsoft Corp. announced that sales of Kinect sensor device for the Xbox gaming console has been successfully sold to more than 18 million more since it was launched a year ago.
One of the success of Microsoft is no doubt in the consumer electronics segment, Kinect allows users to play games through gestures and voice commands are connected to the Xbox and television. Kinect itself was launched in November 2010.
Popularity of this new device has helped Microsoft's Xbox recently sold more than Nintendo's Wii and Sony PlayStation game console market in the United States. Thus was launched the IB Times, Tuesday (10/01/2012).
Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer, gave the opening speech at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, said there are now more than 66 million Xbox units sold and more than 40 million subscribers who use the Xbox Live service, which offers more real-time, interactive entertainment segment .
Last count Microsoft for the Xbox and Kinect sales, of approximately six weeks ago, about 59 million and 11 million respectively, showed sales of Microsoft's strong holiday period.
