CALIFORNIA - Bright Light Studio, the team behind the row of Harry Potter titles from Electronics Arts (EA), has now closed. UK-based developer is moving its employees, to other internal studio owned by EA. Including the Criterion and Playfish.
The number of people affected by this closure is not yet known, but the studio is believed to employ a total of approximately 100 people. Thus was launched Gameinformer, Friday (01/06/2012).
EA declined to provide detailed information related to the closure problem. Rumors about the closure has emerged since the end of October.
"We are especially proud when I saw how many people from the studio who now works for another EA in the UK, Europe and North America," says EA.
According to the Development site, Harvey Elliot, who is General Manager of Bright Light until the last moment closure, is no longer working in the industry. It is believed, he was on leave from industry teresebut, after eight years working as a publisher.
Bright Light who was born in 2008 in collaboration with EA for the development and publication. Throughout this time, EA has been playing with the idea of using a Bright Light for innovation back on the classic IP's Bullfrog Studios, which is now not enabled.
But the plan did not materialize. The studio has now been closed by the project 'IP Maxis' unfinished.
